Biography:
Pauline Ferrand-Prévot was born on February 10, 1992, in Reims, France. She is a French multi-discipline professional cyclist competing in mountain biking, road cycling, cyclocross and gravel cycling who races for Ineos Grenadiers off-road cycling team.
She made history in the 2014-2015 season at the age of 23, when she became the first cyclist to simultaneously hold world titles in all three disciplines, winning the elite women's road race world title in 2014 Ponferrada, the XCO cross-country world title in 2015 in Vallnord, and the cyclo-cross world title in 2015 in Tabor.
She has won a total of 15 elite world titles during her career, that also includes five XCO cross-country titles (2015, 2019, 2020, 2022 and 2023), two XCM marathon titles (2019 and 2022), and two XCC short track titles (2022 and 2023). She was part of the France national team that won world titles in the team relays in 2014, 2015 and 2016, to add to her sparkling career.
Ferrand-Prévot currently held four simultaneous world titles in the elite women's XCC short track, XCO cross-country, XCM marathon and Gravel in 2022-2023 seasons.
She began her professional career racing on the road for Rabobank from 2012 through 2016 before joining Canyon-SRAM from 2017 through the end of 2020. However, she hasn't raced on the road, outside of the French Road Championships, since 2018. She was diagnosed with double iliac artery endofibrosis in November 2018 and underwent two separate surgeries in 2019 and 2020, from which she has fully recovered.
She was focused on off-road racing with a goal of winning the gold medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, an objective that she achieved at the Elancourt Hill facility just outside of Paris.
She later announced that she would turn her attention back to road racing having signed a contract with Visma-Lease a Bike and a focus on the Tour de France Femmes.
