A summer filled with spring Classics and one-week stage races led him to top form at the British Road National Championships, where h e won the men’s elite time trial.
After finishing second in the ITT at Tour of Wallonie, just 8 seconds behind teammate and World Champion Filippo Ganna, Tarling scored the victory for Ineos at the next ITT, stage 2 of the Renewi Tour. One month later, he won the elite men’s European Championship in the race against the clock.
