Biography:
A powerful rouler and Classics rider, Dylan van Baarle is the kind of rider the rest of the peloton won't want to let slip away. The rider from Voorburg soloed to the biggest result of his career in Paris-Roubaix in 2022.
The result was a surprise but not exactly out of the blue: Van Baarle won the Dwars door Vlaanderen in 2021 after an even longer solo move, attacking 50km out and holding off a concerted chase. He then confirmed his talents with a similar performance in Omloop Het Nieuwsblad in 2023 with a 38km attack for the win in the Opening Weekend.
Van Baarle came up through the Rabobank development team but went pro with Garmin-Sharp in 2014, taking his only victory with the American team in that hear at the Tour of Britain. After his fourth place in the Tour of Flanders in 2017, he moved to Ineos, winning the Herald Sun Tour in 2019 and a stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné in 2019. His Paris-Roubaix victory raised his stakes and he signed with Jumbo-Visma after that season.
