Biography:
Irish racer Ben Healy was born in Kingswinford, England on September 11, 2000. The 24-year-old has been part of the WorldTour for three seasons after moving up from Trinity Racing. He turned pro with EF Education-EasyPost in 2022 and has stuck with the US team ever since.
Having won stages at the U23 Giro and Tour de l'Avenir before turning pro – in addition to taking the Irish road title in 2020 – Healy broke through in the spring of 2023 with a series of top results in March, April and May. Podiums at the Trofeo Calvia and the Settimana Coppi e Bartali came in addition to a stage win at the latter and a solo win at the GP Larciano.
His stock rose even further during the Ardennes Classics as Healy finished second at Brabantse Pijl and Amstel Gold Race before narrowly missing the podium at Liège-Bastogne-Liège. Further success came with a 50km solo win into Fossombrone at the Giro d'Italia, the biggest result of his career to date.
His 2024 campaign was a quieter one, with top 10s at the Olympics and Worlds road races accompanying a stage victory at the Tour of Slovenia as his standout results of the season.
