Biography:

The Canadian rider carved a following during her cycling career as a free spirit with dance videos on social media, but a signature race win in 2023 proved the tougher side of Alison Jackson, now a Paris-Roubaix champion.

Born in the rural town of Vermilion, Alberta on December 14, 1988, Jackson signed with TWENTY16 programme in 2015 and immediately made an impact in her first two pro seasons. She started the first year with two podiums in the UCI 2.2 Tour of the Gila and ended with a spot with Team Canada at the World Championships in Richmond. While she was in the top 40 at Worlds in her first Worlds appearance, she would later improve to sixth in the road race in 2021. The second pro season she earned stage victories at the women’s Tour de l’Ardèche and Trophée d'Or Féminin.

In 2017 Jackson moved to the Italian-based Bepink Cogeas, riding a full European season of Classics and stage races, where she had a top 10 on one stage at the Giro d’Italia Donne and stage podiums atLotto Thüringen Ladies Tour and Tour Cycliste Féminin de l’Ardèche.

The next two seasons with the TIBCO-SVB US-based Continental squad, Jackson continued to have success across stage racing and one-day events, getting a GC podium, second overall, at the Women’s Tour of Scotland and winning the Delta Road Race on home soil.

She jumped to the Women’s WorldTour in 2020 with Team Sunweb, where she spent one year with a pair of top 10s at the Giro d’Italia Donne. Jackson’s career prospered through 2023 at that level, with Liv Racing and EF Education-TIBCO-SVB.

In 2021 Jackson scored double Canadian national titles, winning the road race and time trial, and had her best finish at Worlds in her seventh road race, finishing sixth. She also won a stage at Simac Ladies Tour and was fifth at Dwars door Vlaanderen. The 2022 campaign saw her finish second at Drentse Acht van Westerveld and 13th at Paris-Roubaix plus the points classification at Tour of Scandinavia.

Jackson reached a whole new level in 2023, anchored by her victory at Paris-Roubaix from a breakaway, followed by a popular dance in the velodrome and hoisting the cobbled rock trophy. She also took medals in the ITT and road race at Continental Pan-Am Championships, a second road race win at Canadian nationals and second place at Tour de Gatineau.
