Cyclingnews Verdict

The Aeroad CFR does just what it says on the tin. It's stiff, fast and aggressive with solid handling but doesn't take things so far that it beats you up

Pros

  • +

    Fast, stiff and aggressive

  • +

Some necessary changes to aid living with the bike long term

  • +

Expensive, but cheaper than a lot of other top-tier race bikes

Cons

  • -

The DT Swiss 180 freehub is really loud, though some may like this

  • -

The front end feels a touch harsh with the 25mm tyre

Design and Aesthetics An established platform that has benefited from some user friendly tweaks. Aesthically looks agressive and purposeful and the paint looks great8/10
BuildTop tier CFR frame model and premium componentry all round9/10
Weight7.0k without pedals for a size small, very competitive as modern day performane road bikes go 9/10
Performance Really impressive. A very capable bike that's fast everwhere. Yet I haven't felt beaten up or uncomfortable on it. I think I prefer the feel of a 28mm tyre up front 9/10
Value£9,299 for this spec is a lot of money, i'm not disputing that. But the price compares favourable against the competition with similar builds 8/10
Overall Row 5 - Cell 1 43/50
