2019 USA Cycling Professional Road National Championships return to Knoxville
The 2019 USA Cycling Pro Road, ITT and Criterium National Championships, more commonly known as USPro, will take place over four days in and around Knoxville, Tennessee, stating with the individual time trial on Thursday, June 27, continuing with the criterium on Friday, June 28 and winding up withe the road race on Sunday, June 30.
The Elite men and Elite/U23 women will decide the individual time trial title on a course in Oak Ridge, with the women covering two laps for 22.9km and the men racing three laps for 34.4km.
The racing moves to downtown Knoxville for the critetium championships the next day. The women will race for 70 minutes on the course, with the men's 80-minute race following.
The riders will take Saturday off to rest up for Sunday's road race, which will take place on a Knoxville circuit that features the Sherrod Street climb, an ascent of slightly less than 1km that reaches pitches of 10 per cent. A long, mostly flat run to the finish could give the sprinters a chance to hang on and contest the win as Coryn Rivera did last year to take her first Elite women's road title.
The women will cover nine laps of the course for 113.5km, with the men taking on 15 laps for 190.7km.
