The 2013 USA Cycling Cyclo-cross National Championships has its second year in Madison, Wisconsin, where thousands will contend for the coveted stars and stripes jersey in 33 separate categories.
In the UCI elite men's category, it will be defending champion Jeremy Powers (Rapha-Focus) who will be the target of those who aspire to strip that title from him. Will Tim Johnson (Cannondale-Cyclocrossworld) and his teammates Ryan Trebon and Jamey Driscoll tag team to unseat him? Or will wild card Jonathan Page, who has posted strong results in Europe, return to the top step?
Katie Compton (Trek) will go for an historic ninth straight win in these championships, but will be battling the fatigue of travel after returning from Belgium. Who can stop her winning streak? Georgia Gould seems to be the best bet, but young Kaitlin Antonneau has also proven to be strong this season.
