The UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships head to Dübendorf, Switzerland with a record six rainbow jersey contests.
The racing begins on February 2 with the Junior Women's event, where Dutch rider Shirin van Anrooij, 30th in the elite women's UCI rankings, is the overwhelming favourite.
The U23 Men take the middle spot in the afternoon, where riders like Britons Tom Pidcock, Ben Tulett and Dutchman Ryan Kamp head up the field.
In the prime time spot on day 1 are the Elite Women, where there are a host of contenders, with Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado (Netherlands) the current top rider in the world. Right behind her are a slew of Dutch riders including Annemarie Worst, Lucinda Brand and European champion Yara Kastelijn but no Marianne Vos, who will sit out worlds with a hip injury. The strong Dutch team will make life difficult for defending champion Sanne Cant.
Racing continues on Sunday with the Junior Men, where Thibau Nys is the top pick, followed by the U23 women and the prime time Elite Men's field, where the racers will be against the unmovable force of Mathieu van der Poel.
With Wout van Aert still trying to find form following his leg injury from last year's Tour de France and Toon Aerts coming back from broken ribs, the Dutchman is the overwhelming favourite. Few riders have been able to beat him, but the Belgians have a deep team with Aerts, Eli Iserbyt and new national champion Laurens Sweeck.
