Sunweb rider takes bunch sprint
It's been four years since Elisa Longo Borghini placed herself front and centre on Italy's stage, winning its most prestigious one-day race, the Trofeo Alfredo Binda.
Last year, the 26-year-old was ill and missed her home WorldTour race, but this season she's on the top of the series standings after winning Strade Bianche and coming fourth in the Ronde van Drenthe last weekend.
Lucinda Brand (Sunweb) sits second in the rankings, 35 points behind Longo Borghini, with Elena Cecchini (Canyon-SRAM) in third.
Last year's WorldTour overall winner Megan Guarnier got off to a poor start with two DNFs, while her Boels Dolmans teammate and world champion Amalie Dideriksen held down the fort with the victory in Drenthe.
Dideriksen and Orica-Scott's Annemiek van Vleuten are tied for fourth in the standings, with Katarzyna Niewiadoma (WM3) and Lizzy Deignan (Boels) all within reach of taking out the series lead.
