Defending champion, Tejay van Garderen (BMC Racing), will not be participating in the race this year. Instead he has chosen to focus on his preparations for the Tour de France. This year’s world-class peloton does include talents like 2012 Tour de France winner Bradley Wiggins (Team Sky), Taylor Phinney and Thor Hushovd (BMC Racing), Janier Acevedo (Garmin-Sharp), Tom Boonen and Mark Cavendish (Omega Pharma-QuickStep), Jens Voigt (Trek Factory Racing), Adam Yates (Orica-GreenEdge) and Peter Sagan (Cannondale), just to name a few.
