2013 marks the second edition of the UCI 2.2 ranked Tour of Borneo. As a newcomer to the Asian calendar last year the race was a relative success. The company behind the Jelajah Malaysia race extended their reach by undertaking this new race and added another tour for local and international teams to race. Taking place on the Malaysian portion of the Island of Borneo the race remains relatively flat until Stage 4 where riders face an extensive climb from Kota Kinabalu up to Kundasang. Teams to watch for the overall victory are the Iranian Tabriz Petrochemical team from Iran, the Synergy Baku team from Azerbaijan and the Huon-Genesys team from Australia.
