Strade Bianche 2013
It is the youngest of the Spring Classics, but the Strade Bianche in Italy is quickly becoming one of the pivotal races of the season. Put on by Giro d'Italia organisers RCS Sport, the Strade Bianche's iconic white gravel roads offer up a hard man's challenge similar to Paris-Roubaix but with more elevation gain. In the dry, it's a dusty drive-train clogging, puncture-dodging suffer fest, but in the wet the dirt roads become a pure power-sapping slog.
In its seventh edition, the only two-time winner Fabian Cancellara will be gunning for an historic triple.
