The 2015 Santos Women's Tour will be the inaugural edition of the four-day women's race. The event forms part of Cycling Australia's Subaru National Road Series and a progression of the Santos Women's Cup.
It will kick-off more than a week of racing that comprises the Women's Tour, People's Choice Classic and Tour Down Under, with the women's race coming to a close in Adelaide as the men depart on January 20. The new race will keep the heart of the Women's Cup with two critériums in Adelaide on the second and final stages.
Stage one from Woodside to Murray Bridge should be a chance for the pure sprinters such as Giorgia Bronzini (Wiggle Down Under). As with the men's race last year, stage 3 will feature a finish into Campbell Town and could prove to be a decisive day. Checker Hill road is the only classified climb of the day but could split up the bunch and allow a rider like Tiffany Cromwell (Roxsolt) to get away.
2014 Women's Cup winner Loes Gunnewijk is back with her Orica-AIS team and will be a threat in the overall once again.
