Kasia Niewiadoma took an emphatic victory at the 2017 Ovo Energy Women's Tour after escaping the pack on the opening day of racing. Niewiadoma slipped the peloton and won by well over a minute to secure her place at the top of the overall standings.
Niewiadoma lost her key support when Marianne Vos crashed out, but she held firm all the way until London to maintain her place in the leaders jersey and claim her first Women's WorldTour victories. Christine Majerus (Boels Dolmans) slotted into second overall while Hannah Barnes (Canyon-SRAM) rounded out the podium as the best placed British rider.
