The 2016 season kicks off early in Australia with the Mitchelton Bay Cycling Classic in Geelong starting January 1. Four-days of criterium racing, starting with the Ritchie Blvd course, offers Australian and International riders the opportunity to test their legs ahead of the Australian national championships and the Tour Down Under. In 2015 Caleb Ewan was the man to beat as he won three of the four races to announce himself and again shapes up the rider to watch.
In the women's races, Chloe McConville, Valentina Scandolara and Julie Leth have confirmed their appearances and will challenge for early-season honours while Chloe Hosking aims to defend her 2015 title.
