World Champion Linda Villumsen (UnitedHealthcare) won the opening time trial at the Joe Martin Stage Race Thursday in Fayetteville, Arkansas, covering the 4.8km mostly uphill course at Devil's Den park in 10:50.
Eri Yonamine, who is guest riding for the Hagens Berman-Supermint team at Joe Martin after finishing third overall earlier his month at the Redlands Bicycle Classic, was second in 11:08. Kathryn Buss (OrthoCarolina-Winston) was third, 22 seconds behind the winner. Lauren Stephens (Tibco-SVB), the 2015 overall winner, finished eighth, 26 seconds behind Villumsen.
