Team Milram's Erik Zabel has recently been rumoured to be in negotiations with his former team T-Mobile for the 2008 season, but his current squad has formally dismissed the suggestions, adding that the German rider is under contract with them until December 31, 2008.
"In reference to the [comments on the] market in the press, it is specified that Erik Zabel has a contract until 31 December 2008 with the Ciclosport Srl, that manages the Milram Team," the Italian squad declared in a release. "For such reason, at this point, every news on [Zabel] - unless communicated officially the team - has to be considered lacking in every foundation."
