TransWales starting this weekend
Racers keep fingers crossed for continuing good weather
The seven-day TransWales will begin this weekend for 500km (312miles) around the wilds of Wales. With just a few days to go before the start, the forecast looks good, and fingers and toes are crossed for the continuation of the recent sunshine that parts of the United Kingdom have been blessed with.
Riders will descend upon the White House Campsite in Builth Wells, Wales on Saturday in preparation for the big off early on Sunday. The first stage will take the riders 80km and 2,300m of climbing and descending to Llandiloes.
As part of a unique program "Try B4 U Buy", event title sponsor Gore Bike Wear will loan their kit out to riders to try throughout the event. Riders can test the gear, then give it back to Gore for washing after the stage.
