Roglic turns up the heat on rivals on stage 9 of Vuelta a España

Primož Roglič (Jumbo-Visma) took another big step forward towards a possible third victory in the Vuelta a España in the race's first major mountain stage as the Slovenian gained time on all his rivals on stage 9 atop the Alto de Velefique

In an impressive climbing display on the final ascent of the Velefique, Roglič chased down one strong attack by Ineos Grenadiers' Adam Yates then after some brief skirmishing by the other GC favourites, the defending champion pounced on another move by Enric Mas (Movistar) and go clear.
