The ProTour leaders jersey will not be seen in the Ronde van Vlaanderen (Tour of Flanders) on Sunday, April 3, as Alessandro Petacchi has decided not to race it. "I will not ride the Tour of Flanders," Petacchi was quoted by sportwereld.be as saying. "After my win in Sanremo, I have to ease off. Fiandre really appeals to me, but I would still prefer to skip it."
Petacchi will take a short break before resuming in the Tour of Aragon on April 13, followed by the Tour de Romandie and the Giro d'Italia.
