Küng solos to first Swiss road race title
Chabbey claims late-season women's championship
Stefan Küng (Groupama-FDJ) won the Swiss road race championship for the first time in his career on a hilly circuit in Märwil on Saturday, October 31. The championships were rescheduled because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Küng won the Swiss time trial title for the third time in Belp in July before taking the European title in the time trial in Plouay in August and the bronze medal at the UCI Road World Championship time trial in September.
The 26-year-old soloed to the victory in the 175.1km championship race by almost five minutes over Danilo Wyss (NTT Pro Cycling) and Simon Pellaud (Androni Giocattoli).
Elise Chabbey of the now-defunct Equipe Paulé Ka squad, beat Linda Indergand and Lara Krähemann to take the road title in the 82.4km elite women's race.

Cyclingnews is the world's leader in English-language coverage of professional cycling. Started in 1995 by University of Newcastle professor Bill Mitchell, the site was one of the first to provide breaking news and results over the internet in English. The site was purchased by Knapp Communications in 1999, and owner Gerard Knapp built it into the definitive voice of pro cycling. Since then, major publishing house Future PLC has owned the site and expanded it to include top features, news, results, photos and tech reporting. The site continues to be the most comprehensive and authoritative English voice in professional cycling.
