Organizers of the World Cup marathon in Naousa in 2006 and the European Downhill Championship in Elatohori in 2007 will be promoting the International Mountain Bike Cup 2008, a series of six international point to point mountain bike races in Greece. The series will visit six different mountainous destinations in Thessaly and Macedonia.
The first five races are designated as UCI C2 category races while the final race in Nimfaio will be a C1 event. The 16,000 euro prize list for the finale will be the highest amount ever given in a Greek mountain bike race. The best four of five races will count toward the overall series.
The first round will kick off March 30 at Paleoi Poroi in Pieria, with a 51.3km course on the hillsides of Olympus.

April 19-20: Abelakia - Larissa (C2)
May 24-25: Vasilitsa - Grevena (C2)
June 28-29: Portaria -Magnesia (C2)
July 26-27: Elati - Trikala (C2)
September 6-7: Nimfaio - Florina (C1)
