Magnus Backstedt (Liquigas) will return to racing after an operation to remove a melanoma and a season characterised by many accidents. He can start to compete again, starting with the Vuelta Castilla y Leon, March 26 - 30, the first step to the rider's preparations for the Paris-Roubaix, April 15.
Joining Backstedt in Vuelta Castilla y Leon will be Spaniard Manuel Beltrán, who will be racing for the first time this year on home roads. The other six Liquigas riders for the race include Michael Albasini, Patrick Calcagni, Kjell Carlström, Dario Cataldo, Vladimir Miholjevic and Alessandro Vanotti. Team manager will be Mario Chiesa.
