Fort McClellan Road Race - USA Cycling Pro Road Tour
Following the Sunny King Criterium on April 2, the Fort McClellan Road Race on April 3 is the second event of the 2016 USA Cycling Pro Road Tour and is the last leg of the opening weekend of racing in Anniston, Alabama.
The Fort McClellan Road Race consists of multiple loops around a 35.5km circuit that includes three significant climbs. The US domestic peloton will battle over Bains Gap, which has an average gradient of 10 percent along more than a kilometre of climbing, with pitches up to 17 percent. Each lap includes nearly 571 metres of elevation gain. The pro women start at 9 a.m. and race over 111km, while the pro men start at 1 p.m. for their 146.5km race.
