SKS continues to expand and refine its fender range for 2013. Last year's inexpensive (as in just US$20) Velo series, built with molded plastic and a single attachment point, grows from a single 42mm width to four sizes in total, including a 47mm model for trekking bikes and hybrids, a 55mm-wide version for 'cross bikes, and even a 65mm version for mountain bikes – all available with an optional US$10 secondary set of stays for more stability.
Road riders looking for something even more basic can instead look to the seatpost-mounted S-Blade with its strap-style, quick-release attachment, adjustable angle, and generous length to ward off spray from the rear wheel. At the opposite end of the spectrum is the RaceBlade XL, which provides far more coverage to keep everyone reasonable happy on group rides. That set is built around semi-permanent brackets at the brake mounting bolt and quick-release skewers that have redesigned for 2013 for easier removal and attachment plus a sturdier fitment overall.
Other introductions for 2013 include a new range of frame mounted bags – one 'Bento Box'-style model plus two that attach inside the front triangle – a new US$8 Wirecagealuminum bottle cage built with extra wraparound holding power, and an upgraded Spaero Sport mini-pump that reportedly can achieve up to 110psi of pressure with its newly Presta-only screw-on head and retractable flexible rubber hose.
