Dennis takes over race lead from teammate Hepburn

Moreno Hofland (Netherlands) won the 160.5km opening road stage of the Tour de l'Avenir, outsprinting his six breakaway companions for the victory. Romain Bardet (France) finished second while Italy's Matteo Mammini claimed third.

Hofland's teamamte Wouter Wippert led in the peloton for 8th place, 26 seconds behind the escapees.
