Prudential RideLondon Classique - Overview
Kirsten Wild (Hitec Products) did exactly what most predicted and smashed the bunch sprint on The Mall to win the Prudential RideLondon Classique on Saturday. The powerful Dutch rider won the crash-marred finale ahead of Nina Kessler (Lensworld-Zannata) and Leah Kirchmann (Liv-Plantur).
The newly-named 2016 Prudential RideLondon Classique was the 13th stop on the new Women's WorldTour and held on July 30.
The event presented a landmark occasion for women's cycling as the €100,000 prize money was equal to the prize given at the men’s race the following day.
The Classique was held on a 5.5km London circuit a day ahead of the men’s race.
